Small jaw crusher suitable production condition introduction
1. Brief Definition
Small jaw crusher generally refers to PE/PEW small-sized primary jaw crushing equipment, including stationary small jaw crusher and mobile small jaw crushing unit. It sits between mini laboratory jaw crusher and large industrial jaw crusher, focusing on small and medium production lines, scattered sites and flexible operation scenarios.
2. Suitable Production Scale
- Output range: Typically 5–80 t/h, matching small quarry, stone yard, recycling station and small mineral processing plant.
- Not suitable for large-scale continuous mines with hourly capacity above 100 tons; large models or two-set parallel configuration are required in that case.
- Ideal for batch intermittent production rather than 24-hour non-stop heavy-duty operation.
3. Applicable Raw Material Conditions
Suitable materials
Hard & medium-hard brittle materials: granite, basalt, quartz, iron ore, limestone, cobblestone, coal, construction waste concrete blocks, refractory raw materials.
- Compressive strength: ≤320 MPa.
Material limitations
- High-viscosity, wet sticky clay or mud: easy to block crushing cavity and discharge opening; materials need drying or pre-screening.
- Tough fibrous materials such as rubber, plastic, timber: difficult to form compressive fracture.
- Metal debris: must be removed before feeding to protect jaw plates.
- Oversized lumps: feeding block size must not exceed the maximum feed opening; oversize rock needs secondary blasting or pre-breaking.
4. Site & Infrastructure Conditions
Suitable site features
- Limited space: narrow yard, urban construction waste recycling station, roadside temporary crushing station, mountain small quarry.
- Frequent relocation demand: wheeled mobile small jaw crusher is preferred if the site shifts every few months.
- Low foundation requirement: mobile type avoids heavy concrete foundation; stationary version still needs flat reinforced foundation to reduce vibration.
Power requirements
- Small jaw crushers mostly adopt 15–55 kW motor.
- Stable three-phase industrial power is preferred; if power grid is weak, configure matched generator set and voltage stabilization equipment.
- Avoid long-distance thin cables, which cause voltage drop, overload and frequent shutdown.
5. Matching Process Conditions
Best process configuration
- Primary crushing only: small jaw crusher + vibrating feeder + vibrating screen, produce coarse aggregate.
- Combined crushing line: small jaw as primary crusher, matched with cone crusher or impact crusher for secondary crushing to make finished sand and aggregate.
- Construction waste recycling: small jaw + magnetic separator to remove steel bars from concrete blocks.
Unsuitable process matching
- Direct fine crushing: small jaw is primary crushing equipment; it cannot replace fine jaw crusher or impact crusher to produce finished sand alone.
- Closed circuit with too small screen aperture: easily cause circulating load surge and cavity blockage.
6. Environmental & Operation Conditions
- Altitude: Conventional models adapt to altitude below 1,000 m; high-altitude areas need motor power derating or special motor.
- Temperature: Normal working temperature -10 ℃ ~ +40 ℃. In cold regions, lubricating oil heating and anti-freezing measures are required.
- Dust control: Closed crushing chamber, dust cover or simple spray dust suppression is recommended to meet environmental requirements.
- Noise restriction: If near residential areas, add sound insulation shed and arrange daytime production.
7. Economic & Management Conditions Suitable for Small Jaw Crusher
- Low initial investment budget compared with large crushing station.
- Simple operator training; fewer maintenance personnel.
- Short project cycle, temporary project or short-term mining contract.
- Low transportation cost for spare parts; jaw plates, toggle plates and bearings are universal small-model parts.
8. Unsuitable Working Conditions Summary
- Long-term 24-hour heavy load continuous production
- Large lump raw ore far exceeding feed opening
- High moisture, sticky materials without pretreatment
- No stable power supply and no generator support
- Large hourly output demand over 80 t/h
- Explosive, dangerous materials without explosion-proof modification
