Forbidden operation behaviors when running jaw crusher
Violating forbidden operations is the main cause of personal injury, component damage and sudden shutdown of jaw crusher. All operators must strictly avoid the following behaviors during equipment running.
1. Forbidden unsafe manual operations
- It is forbidden to reach hands, tools or steel bars into the crushing cavity to pick, pry or shovel materials when the equipment is energized and rotating.
- Do not stand on the feed hopper, frame, belt guard or safety cover of the crusher.
- It is forbidden to clean blockages, check wear parts or fasten connecting bolts without cutting off the power and hanging lockout tagout.
- Do not remove safety guards, protective covers, limit switches and interlock devices at will.
2. Forbidden feeding misoperations
- Do not feed oversized lumps exceeding the allowable maximum feed size.
- Forbid one-sided concentrated feeding, which causes eccentric load and uneven stress.
- Do not add uncrushable foreign objects such as iron blocks, steel drill bits and steel bars into the crushing chamber.
- It is forbidden to surge feeding or overfill the crushing cavity above the jaw guard.
- Do not feed materials before the jaw crusher reaches stable rated speed.
3. Forbidden overload & parameter adjustment operations
- Do not adjust the discharge opening while the crusher is running.
- Forbid long-time operation under overcurrent, overload, obvious abnormal vibration or sharp abnormal noise.
- Never replace the standard safety toggle plate with a self-made high-strength plate to cancel the overload protection function.
- Do not run the machine continuously when the lubrication system fails, oil temperature is too high or oil is missing.
4. Forbidden shutdown and emergency handling mistakes
- It is forbidden to shut down the main machine directly when the crushing cavity is full of materials. Always stop feeding first and empty the cavity before shutdown.
- Do not restart the crusher repeatedly when it is blocked and cannot start.
- Do not use forced external tools to rotate the flywheel manually when the machine is jammed with power on.
5. Forbidden maintenance & inspection behaviors during operation
- Do not touch bearings, toggle plate seats and other high-temperature parts to check temperature by hand during operation.
- Forbid welding, cutting or repairing any part of the crusher while it is running.
- Do not step on the transmission belt, flywheel or pulley for observation.
- Do not carry out lubrication work on rotating components when the equipment is not locked out.
6. Other prohibited behaviors
- It is forbidden to modify the original design structure of the crusher without manufacturer approval.
- Do not ignore alarm signals, abnormal current and oil pressure warnings and continue production.
- It is forbidden for untrained personnel to operate the jaw crusher.
Summary
Core taboos: No manual operation inside cavity with power on, no blind overload feeding, no removal of safety protection parts, no shutdown with full cavity, no maintenance without power lockout. Standard operation can prevent toggle plate breakage, jaw plate damage and safety accidents.
