Daily safe operation specification of jaw crusher

1. Pre-start Safety Inspection

  1. Check all fastening bolts, especially the jaw plate, toggle plate and bearing base bolts; tighten any loose parts.
  2. Inspect lubrication system: confirm oil level of bearings, oil quality and pipeline sealing; no oil leakage.
  3. Check the clearance of discharge opening, remove rock blocks, iron scraps and other foreign materials inside the crushing cavity.
  4. Verify protective devices: safety guard, coupling cover, emergency stop button and warning signs are intact and functional.
  5. Check electrical system, cable insulation and grounding; no exposed wires or short circuit risks.
  6. Confirm feeding equipment, belt conveyor and interlock devices work normally.
  7. Notify surrounding personnel to stay away from the equipment area before startup.

2. Startup Operation Rules

  1. Start the jaw crusher without load. Do not feed materials until the machine reaches stable rated speed.
  2. After startup, run idle for 2–3 minutes. Listen for abnormal impact, friction or knocking sound; check vibration condition. Stop immediately if any abnormality appears.
  3. Start feeding equipment only after no-load test is normal.

3. Running Process Safety Requirements

  1. Keep uniform feeding. Materials shall be distributed in the middle of crushing cavity, avoid unilateral feeding.
  2. Strictly prohibit oversized rock blocks, iron pieces and unbreakable materials entering the crushing chamber.
  3. Monitor bearing temperature continuously. The temperature shall not exceed 70℃. Stop the machine for inspection once overheated.
  4. Check motor current and vibration regularly. Do not operate under overload condition for long time.
  5. It is forbidden to reach into the crushing cavity by hand or tools to take out stuck materials during operation.
  6. Keep the equipment area clean, no accumulated materials blocking walking passage.
  7. If material blocking occurs, stop feeding first, then shut down the crusher. Clear blockage only after power cut and lockout.

4. Shutdown Procedure

  1. Stop feeding first, continue running until all materials inside crushing cavity are completely discharged.
  2. Shut down the crusher motor after cavity emptying.
  3. Cut off the main power supply, implement lockout-tagout procedure for maintenance work.
  4. Do not stop the machine with materials left inside the chamber.

5. Maintenance & Daily Safety Management

  1. All maintenance, repair and replacement work must be carried out after power-off and lockout.
  2. Wear PPE: safety helmet, protective goggles, anti-slip shoes and gloves when operating or maintaining.
  3. Do not modify safety components or remove protective guards arbitrarily.
  4. Regularly inspect jaw plates, toggle plates and wear parts; replace severely worn components in time.
  5. Record daily operation data, abnormal faults and maintenance logs.
  6. Operators must receive professional training and hold operation authorization. Untrained personnel are not allowed to operate the jaw crusher.

6. Emergency Handling

  1. In case of sudden abnormal vibration, loud noise, smoke or fire, press emergency stop button immediately, cut off power supply.
  2. When personnel injury happens, stop equipment first and carry out rescue.
  3. After emergency shutdown, find out root cause and fix faults before restarting.
