Global industrial solutions leader SBM has announced a landmark collaboration with Russia-based Solomatic, marking a key expansion of its footprint in Eastern Europe. The partnership was formalized during a recent signing ceremony attended by senior executives from both firms, with dual flags (China and Russia) and project visuals displayed to underscore the cross-border initiative.

SBM, a Shanghai-headquartered heavy machinery and engineering group with operations in 180+ countries, will bring its expertise in aggregate, mining, and mineral processing technologies to the alliance. Solomatic, a prominent Russian industrial entity, is expected to leverage local market insights and operational networks to deploy SBM’s equipment and end-to-end solutions across key sectors in Russia.

“Our partnership with Solomatic aligns with SBM’s strategy to deepen regional engagement in high-growth markets,” said a SBM representative at the ceremony. “By combining our technical capabilities with Solomatic’s on-the-ground presence, we aim to deliver tailored, efficient solutions that support Russia’s industrial development goals.”

The collaboration will initially focus on infrastructure and resource projects, with plans to expand into sustainable technology applications—an area where SBM has invested heavily in R&D (3% of annual sales dedicated to innovation). For Solomatic, the alliance provides access to SBM’s globally certified equipment and lifecycle services, enhancing its ability to meet domestic demand for advanced industrial solutions.

Industry observers note that the partnership reflects growing economic cooperation between Chinese and Russian industrial sectors, particularly in machinery and engineering. SBM’s existing production bases (totaling 1.2 million sqm) and logistics network are poised to facilitate timely delivery of equipment to Russian projects.
A Solomatic executive added, “This partnership enables us to offer our clients world-class technology while supporting local supply chains. We look forward to driving impactful projects alongside SBM.”
Details of specific projects and investment scales are yet to be disclosed, but both companies have confirmed that implementation will begin in the coming quarter.
